I'd go with a 1 handed blunt weapons as they use less stamina and once it (the Impact proc) knocks the enemy down just stomp its face in ftw :-) Dead Island 2 has no specific location to obtain Red Dragon, but you can purchase it from the Trader on Ocean Avenue.
